Emily Irene VanCamp who initially was hoping to be a professional dancer became interested in acting after visiting her sister Katie in the making of the movie Ladies Room. In parallel to studying acting and acting lessons, VanCamp was offered the role of a guest on a show that aired in Canada. A few of the series she had starred in among other shows were Are You Afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career after being cast in Glory Days, the WB mystery horror show. While the show was praised by review, the show's low ratings led to it being removed after only nine episodes. The May 12 1986-born actress was quick to secure another role in Everwood as a member of the main cast Amy Abbott. She was a finalist for 4 Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
